Happy Halloween!

Samantha won't be dressing up for her first Halloween and neither will her parents. Though it may be hard to tell because we look and feel fairly ghoulish in our current state.

More aunties came to visit this weekend.

They were bearing gifts which Samantha graciously accepted.

We could add some cheesy quotes to these pics, but we will spare everyone.

1 week down, only a few thousand to go....

Samantha, like her father, continues to have a hearty appetite and continues to gain weight, also unfortunately like her father ;)
Here she is after a truly filling meal.

Cau Junior came in thursday night to visit.

Here is Daddy helping the little princess go to sleep.

eat, sleep, pinch a loaf

that's pretty much all she is doing right now. and i guess the same can be said for us. Mom Pham keeps us nice and full and Annette does the same for Samantha.

xiaw nia nia came by to help us out with some laundry and to see her new niece.

Here's Samantha sporting the greek goddess look.

Here's Mommy and baby pooped out on the bed

puttin on the L-Bs (well technically O-Zs)

First week is progressing quickly and Samantha seems to change every day in a little way. At the checkup today we found that she is starting to gain weight now, and that is a great sign.

Here are a few more pics. I think that last one looks a little like Cindy.

Videos Galore!

Here some fun videos to look at.
The first two are of Samantha.

This one is Samantha in all her glory at the hospital when she was only a couple hours old.

This second one is Samantha today at home happy in her burrito.

These next two are of Katelyn talking, but brace yourself because they are very very cute.
Here she is commenting on the drawing, and
in this one she is giving a sampling of animal sounds.

Day 2&3

We spent 2 nights in the hospital. Normally we would have had to move out of the birthing suite into a normal hospital room, but we were fortunate and got to stay there for the whole time.

We came home today around 3. Starting to get everything settled in. Samantha has turned into an eating machine since we got back. I think she'll get back to her birth weight in no time. Here's some more pics from the hospital and from the drive home.

Welcome Samantha!

Not much time to post details now as I have to get back to the hospital to Annette and the baby. But since Samantha has so many fans (and not even a day old!), we wanted to get these pictures out for everyone to look at.

Here's the basics: Annette's water broke at 2am early Fri morning. We got to the hospital around 2:45am. We waited and waited until Annette was fully dilated which was about 1:15pm. Once the pushing started at 1:20, mommy was very efficient and it was all over in about 20 minutes. Great job Mommy! Samantha was 7 lbs 2.6 oz, and was 20 inches long.

I will post some video clips after we get back from the hospital. Thanks everyone for your support and well wishes!

web server video experiment

so i set up our home computer to be a webserver, so that instead of trying to send out large videos to everyone, I can put them on the server and people can download and watch them whenever they want to.

Here's my first attempt at linking to a video, with a little message inside. I am rendering them at 320x240 because trying full screen just makes the file size way too big. I also had to sacrifice the video quality a little for the same reason. This one is about 32M. On my desktop this took about 15-20secs to download and on my laptop it took about a minute going over wireless.

Happy Viewing!

First time's the charm

Hello Friends and Family,
Was trying to think of an easy way to give updates of what's going on with us over here and also be able to share photos and stuff, so we'll give this a try. Not sure how sharing video clips is going to work quite yet, but we'll see.
