Dance class anyone?

Samantha's daddy recently found out that Culture Shock DC holds classes at a nearby dance studio so he decided to start going to dance classes again. And of course, like father, like daughter....Samantha loves to dance too. We went to an open house at the American Dance Institute and Samantha tried out a "pre-ballet" class.

We finally found time to make our blackberry pie. Here is Samantha helping to make the pie filling!

Another busy weekend....

This weekend was a busy one. We picked blackberries at Butler's Orchard...it's nearby so we may be going back for all the other different "fruit-picking" seasons.

Now we have to learn how to make blackberry pie.

Refreshed from her nap, she didn't even show any signs of fatigue even after a long, hot day's work of picking blackberries.

The following day, we went to the International Children's Festival held in Vienna, VA. The countries honored this year were China, Finland, Jordan, and Ghana. Samantha enjoyed participating in activity booths for each of the countries.

Here she is painting the Chinese character for her zodiac sign: the rooster.

There was an "instrument petting zoo" and Samantha tried out the violin.

First Day of School

With many years of schooling ahead of her, Samantha will have many "first days."

Here she is modeling her new school uniform...

... and showing off her "inside-the-school shoes."

Inside the classroom and on her own!
