They learn so fast....

Not too long ago, we posted about Samantha's side to side version of crawling.
Well, she has moved on and now does a kind of slithering move.



Her favorite form of locomotion though is definitely her walker. Here's a few videos showing how fast she can move around. We can't just leave her alone anymore!

Samantha got to take her first dip in the pool last weekend at Cau (Uncle) Alex's house and she loved it. There was no diving because she didn't want to get her hair wet (more on that later), so she just waded around and got used to the water. Most importantly, there were no gifts left in the pool!








After talking about it for so long, we finally decided to go ahead and shave her head. It's supposed to promote a thicker mane, so hopefully she will be thanking us for it later. As you can see from the pictures above, she had a pretty obvious comb-over effect going on anyway.

She didn't like the process, but once it was over, she was all smiles. Her new 'do' should be nice for the upcoming hot summer weeks.






She's also probably happy to have the same haircut as her Uncle....


To celebrate, she decided to play us a song (a few of them actually) on the piano. We'll have a video posted of this soon....

On the move.....

Samantha is starting to become a little more pudgy and is very close to moving around on her own.
She can push herself to where she wants to go with her walker pretty well.

She can also do a pseudo-crawl when she sees something she really wants to get to.

Making friends...

Samantha loves playing with her stuffed animals...





But she's also trying to make new real friends too. Here she is with Jay Doctor (Annette's co-resident's son).



Recently, she celebrated her first Mother's Day with her mom and Ba Ngoai. Samantha's dad and Ong Ngoai joined them for dim sum too...

Samantha's first cross-country trip

Samantha made her way to the East Coast for the first time at the end of April. Here are some pictures:



She was able to see Kate and Ally as well. Here is Samantha and Ally learning how to "share" and play ball...



Eating out was definitely on the agenda! :)



She even made a trip up to Baltimore.





A blast from the past...Samantha can never say that she's never played "Atari"...





She loved playing the piano! She was quite the performer...



After a few days in Maryland, she also visited New Jersey!

Halfway to 1.....

Samantha turns 6 months in a few days. After watching us eat for all this time, she finally has started to eat some food of her own. She's been chowing down on rice cereal the last couple days and is getting the hang of it quickly.

APRIL FOOL'S DAY!



Time is flying quickly though and Samantha is growing up fast...she hasn't taken her first steps yet, but she's sitting on her own now! Makes bathroom time a whole lot easier... :)

4 1/2 months old...

Samantha rolled over for the first time last week. Here's a video of the 3rd time she did it. She is also learning how to grab (or try to grab) things much better with her hands now. This is a video of Samantha chillin on the couch playing with BunnyBear. Its a larger file, so remember to save to your computer first, and then watch it after.

Samantha started sleeping in her own room a few weeks ago. Here she is sleeping in one morning.
Now that she can kind of sit up, we've been trying the potty, so that Mommy and Daddy don't have to hold her every time (she's getting heavy!). Here she is giving her new potty a test run....

Of course there are still accidents, so we need to check to make sure she didn't sneak one out on us.....
